GOD IS ABLE

On 28th of April, 2016 at around 7.45pm, I was involved a fatal accident that almost left me dead. I was on a motorbike and a speeding lorry hit the bike on the right side. My right leg was broken four (4) times. My left leg was pierced by a sharp metal which left two deep-cut wounds by the calf muscles. I had bruises on my back and my head swollen and bruised in the middle. I lost a lot of blood and was getting unconscious and passing out. I was rushed to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and later admitted at the Agakhan Hospital. I went through four major surgeries and people had to donate blood for me to live.

I was fixed with metal bars and plates inside my right leg. Plus two different fiber casts for a period of 6 months. I went from a stretcher to a wheelchair, to a four leg supporter, to a two leg armpit supporter, to a two leg elbow supporter, to a one leg elbow supporter. Today as I’m writing this, I am walking without any support and God has completely healed me (8 months later).

Through this accident, I have seen God working in miraculous ways. From the nursing care I received at the hospital, to the love from friends and family both in prayer and monetary. Even when the best surgeons and doctors confirmed that the nature of the fractures was very terrible and unimaginable; so much so that the surgeon said “Your leg is badly damaged; it was a very bad accident indeed. We can only try to do our best, we will try” Minutes prior to the surgery, I was reminded of a quote by Bob Marley that “You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have” and God added that ‘…my power is made perfect in your weakness’ God kept reminding me ‘be still, I am with you.’ ‘Do not fear for I am your God.’ ‘Is there anything too difficult for me?’ This is where I drew my strength from; knowing God’s promises over my life.

Remember the apostle Paul was also going through some hard times and he said I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through him who gives me strength.”

My question to you is this ‘What situation are you going through in life that you think is too big for God to deliver you from’?

I have seen God mend my broken, shuttered and dead bones, breathed his breath of life, fixed them and put them back together to form a fully functioning leg; spirit, body and soul. I wasn’t just healed, I was made whole. I learned to be dependent on God alone, to look up to him in total surrender. I remember how hard it was laying on the bed, not being able to wake up or do anything by myself; I had to depend on my family and friends to help me do most of the things. I had lonely nights, when I would wake up because of the excruciating pain I was going through 24/7. There was nothing I could do but to just call upon the name of the Lord. This total dependency on God is what gave me the courage and audacity to face my fears, endure the pain and persevere to the very end.

My life has changed since then, as a result of the accident, the pain I went through and the time I spent on the bed, God restored it all. He promoted me, sat me with heads of states and Government officials including His Excellency Dr Jakaya Kikwete (former Tanzanian President), President Thabo Mbeki (former South African president) and Dr John Magufuli (current Tanzanian president) amongst others. Moreover, God has given me platforms to speak, train and equip young people of different nations, to share with them about the God who heals, mends and restores.

I have seen God use my testimony to set his people free, and I mean thousands of young people. Friends, if God can heal me and use me for his Glory, he can heal you of your sickness, illness, brokenness (both physical and emotional) and use you to  bring Glory and honor to his name. Nothing is too difficult for God. Only believe. He is ABLE! My God is ABLE!

  1. Mr. Jonathan, i can’t stop to think that you went through hell and came through in one piece. Sometimes God has to knock us off our feet only to teach us that the hands we are about to land on are His too! That’s called Total dependency!
    That was such a moving Testimony. it made me question myself: How much can i take while still keeping under His wing no matter what the physical world says?
